Recommendations for Christians books

Postby Ethnog » Sun Jul 28, 2013 11:57 pm

I want to start reading more Christians books.
I don't like those feel good self help books because they don't move me or keep me interested.

Any good recommendations?

I am reading 4 different books; three which you might be interested in.

They're Christianity Explored, Tell the Truth, The Gospel Centered Life, and the one that you probably wouldn't is On Being Presbyterian. :)

I just read The Explicit Gospel by Matt Chandler, and *loved* it. I'm basically nagging everyone I know into reading it :D

I need to read that. I'll have to order a copy, I have heard nothing but good things about it.

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.

Also, I've been going through the audio book of Death by Love at the behest of a certain tigress (I've stalled on finishing it though), and it might be interesting to read. It's basically case studies of people, their problems, and how Mark approaches them from a biblical standpoint. Knowing you just a little bit, I think you'll be in tears for about half of it, so maybe you should wait on reading it.

I am reading:

Tender Warrior by Stu Weber (about being a godly man)
Returning to Your First Love by Tony Evans (about the practical application of Revelation 2)

If you're looking for some good Christian fiction, might I recommend the Chronicles of Brothers series by Wendy Alec? I absolutely love those books.
