What Are You Reading--Bible Edition

Postby Wren » Sat Aug 24, 2013 2:03 am

Maybe it's just me, but I feel weird posting what I'm reading in the Bible in an entertainment section. And I don't see a thread elsewhere to discuss Bible reading.

I recently started reading the book of James. My new church is finishing up a series on James. I missed most of the series, but it made me want to read that book during my personal Bible reading.

James is such a great book. so much meat in there.

I'm currently reading through Ephesians.

I'm still switching between Revelation and Hebrews.

I've been meaning to finish through a study on another book in the Old Testament, however. Perhaps one of the prophetic books. Maybe I should start with the Lesser Prophets...
"And how the Lord has a little left me, how weak do I find myself! O, let it teach me to depend less on myself, to be more humble, and to give more of the praise of my ability to Jesus Christ." Jonathan Edwards (from his journal)

At church we are going through Revelations and the letters to the seven churches.

I'm reading through John right now.

I'm getting ready to go through Philemon. It's brief but very underrated.

Nehemiah, 1 Corinthians.

5 months left on my One Year Bible plan. Should only be 3 months left... but, you know.

Finished Matthew and now moving on to Mark. Decided to read it in the HCSB translation for a change of pace.
